About the Artist

Line Dufour is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design. She also obtained her Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto.

Her tapestries have been exhibited throughout Ontario and in the United States. She has received numerous awards, grants and scholarships to pursue her weaving.

Line has extensive teaching experience with people of all ages. Not only has she taught weaving but she has also taught high school art (Waterloo Separate Board) and art history (Wellington County Board, Continuing Education).

Magazines such as Shuttle, Spindle and Dypot, Southwest Art, Fibre Focus, the Hamilton Spectator, the National Post and Fibre Quarterly have spotlighted her work and undertakings. A book entitled Tapestry, published by Phaidon Press and written in Great Britain by Barty Phillips bestowed Line with the title of "Contemporary Master". She is one of only two Canadians to appear in this international and historical retrospective on tapestry.

Her work can be found in collections all over Canada, such as Cooperators Insurance in Guelph, who commissioned Line to create a tapestry for their office.
